PAFC -- Off to a Dynamic Start

The temperature may have been 104 degrees all weekend, but that only seemed to fuel the fire for the Girls U18 soccer team, Dynamic, who managed to clinch the club’s first championship title at the Stockton Explosion Tournament on July 17-18.  Shutting out competitors Sac United and MRFC United, both with a score of 4-0, their final showdown found Dynamic once again taking on Sac United in the final game.  Sac eventually succumbed to the relentless spirit of Placer Alliance’s offense, however, with the help of Dynamic’s midfielders, Kayla Granley and Jessica Etulle, who scored the team’s winning goals.  Coach John Vasquez said he was proud of his girls’ 2-1 historic victory, considering Stockton was only their second tournament of playing together this season.

Bekah Anderson, Nona Bhatia, Kori Boynton, Ashley Brown, Ashlee Diridoni, Tamara Eckert, Jessica Etulle, Kayla Granley, Ashley Hennagin, Marissa Lopez, Taylor O’Meara, Marin Peterson, Aleah Valenzano, Callie Walter, Torey Walter,  Haleigh Keeney, and Coach John Vasquez.

Placer Blues and Placer Alliance FC merge to form strategic relationship.

In an exciting development in the local soccer community, Placer Blues and Placer Alliance FC announced that they will merge the two clubs effective 5/15/2010. The club will continue to be known as PAFC with the elite academy known as PAFC-Blues. After much discussion as to how to best serve the D1 players of CYSA, it was determined that bringing these two organizations together is a perfect fit for our players, club, coaches and future development of all. The new club will continue to provide an affordable playing opportunity for the bulk of PYSL's D1 players while also offering an academy structure to the most advanced players. In addition, the GT Soccer academy will take the lead in player development to ensure all the players of PAFC receive the very best skills development. To learn more about this exciting opportunity for our players, read our official announcement here.

PAFC to begin Academy Training June 2nd
PAFC is excited to announce the creation of the PAFC Club Academy Training Program beginning 6/2/10. This program is designed to instill a foundation of strong technical and tactical skills in our players that will ensure our teams excel on the pitch in competition and exhibit those characteristics associated with the beautiful game.  We are proud to announce Craig Huft as our official Club Academy Trainer. Craig comes to us with a long background in soccer having played for CSU Hayward (advancing to the DII Final Four),  playing for multiple amateur and professional outdoor and indoor teams (most notably the Sacramento Knights form 1993-2001) and has trained several D1 competitive clubs in the area.  Craig brings a great knowledge of the game and we are thrilled to have him.

The Club Academy training sessions will consist of age appropriate technical/tactical training.  This training is progressive in nature so players will build upon what they have learned one year to the next. One of our additional goals is to instill good training habits in our players from an early age and to root these sessions in a culture of hard work, focus and dedication.   Here at PAFC, we would prefer to ground our training (and by extension our players) in a culture of accomplishment driven by hard work and dedication.  Not only will this benefit them as players but is also a good life lesson that they can carry with them as they mature.
